Q: Do you have an office I can go to?

A: No, we do not have a physical office for patients. We are a courtesy mobile service of the laboratory and go to our client's home or office. We can also meet you at your Attorney, Doctor or other professional office, if you like. We may request to meet you in a public (but still private) area. This allows us to be more flexible, test parties at a seperate time when requested or needed, gives you complete convenience and privacy, and helps us keep our services more affordable than other labs that offer the same exact testing. Our services are by appointment only so please give us a call at least a couple days ahead of when you would like testing services. 

Q: What is the cost of a DNA test?

A: We know that DNA testing can be expensive and nerve wracking that is why we strive to keep our laboratory fees the most affordable and lowest on the Central Coast. On Average, any legal and notarized family relationship genetic studies testing 2 persons (depending upon your needs, the amount of persons needing genetic profiles, and the State you are located) you can expect to spend anywhere from $425-$650 total USD.  We give you customized, convenient and flexible testing options at your home, office or location of choice, while strictly following the legal chain of custody guidelines. Notarized results are provided directly to you once your testing is completed by our well known AABB accredited laboratory within 5-7 business days. 

We would need to speak with you for a direct quote as price can vary depending on what kind of DNA test you need, amount of persons needing testing, and your Location. We do our best to keep costs low and work with you as best we can, such as, the option to come meet us for your testing appointment to reduce or eliminate any mileage costs. As always, we take HIPAA laws very seriously and value your privacy. All calls and testing Services are completely confidential and you have complete control of where you want your genetic results sent. 


Q: Do you provide prenatal DNA tests (DNA testing for Paternity during pregnancy)?

A: No. Unfortunately, we do not provide any prenatal services at this time and aren't aware of any local labs that do perform prenatal genetic testing. Please call us when your baby is born and we can get you tested right away. 

Q: Do you provide testing service appointments on weekends and evenings?

A: Definitely! We try to be as flexible as possible and strive to meet the needs of each and every client.

A: Absolutely! We understand that Family matters can be complicated. We prefer to speak with you and together we can determine your testing needs and come up with a plan as everyone's situation is unique. Call or text (805)270-5821. Q: What do I need to have a Paternity or other Family DNA test done in the State of California?

A: You simply need to make an appointment, have a Valid photo ID and pay the Laboratory fees. You do not need a doctor's or court order. All genetic testing is done by an AABB accredited laboratory and all results are notarized and can be used in court or simply for peace of mind. 

All adults being tested must have a valid photo ID or driver's license. For all minor children being tested we will need a legal document such as the child's birth certificate OR a Social security OR a medical ID card. A crib card from the hospital of birth can be used for newborn infants.  Testing appointments take about 30 Minutes or less and samples are obtained via buccal swabs (cheek cells). 

When you’re ready to schedule, your technician will collect some information over the phone, confirm your appointment, and then send you an electronic invoice for pre-payment of your laboratory fees. You can choose if you’d like your invoice to be sent to a mobile phone or email. On the day of your scheduled appointment a mobile lab technician will arrive in an unmarked car at the location requested for your set appointment time. 

We provide gloves, hand sanitizer, Pens, test requisitions, genetic collection kits and everything needed for your appointment. Your technician will arrive with a badge of identification and will Check your identification, obtain signatures of consent, quick photos and a fingerprint for the file (as required by law), and then obtain your DNA samples and seal everything in front of you and any witnesses present. Let us help you! It is quick, easy and painless. 

Q: Are those drug store dna tests the same as the testing that you provide?

A: No. We are an AABB accredited laboratory and are overseen by OSHA, JCAHO and other laboratory accreditation organizations that provide strict protocols, facility standards and frequent laboratory inspections. We go to extensive measures to ensure quality control and specimen integrity. Our equipment is regularly cleaned, updated, calibrated and properly tested and your specimen is collected by a licensed professional using standard universal precautions, specimen collection procedure, and legal method of documentation (called a chain of custody) which ensures the proper collection paper trail and legal transfer of your specimens to the laboratory. Your genetic material is then analyzed and compared by trained CLS and Laboratory professionals. Your specimens and paperwork are labeled multiple times, color coded and triple checked throughout the collection and testing process to avoid any mix ups and/or errors. Your final genetic profile analysis report is then signed off and notarized before final release. We are HIPAA compliant and required to save your medical record for a certain Length of time by law. 

Drug store tests may be a bit cheaper in cost, but, like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. There seems to be a lack clinical laboratory oversight. Drug store and online Collection methods/tests can easily be contaminated by user error leading to inaccurate results. Also, drug store kit obtained results cannot be used for legal matters such as family court or child support. Also questionable or unknown are staff training, what Is done with your specimens long term, and what methods are in place and used to ensure quality control of both samples and test results. We do frequently get calls from clients that have used box tests and want help interpretating the results or are concerned about their accuracy, however, we are unable to interpret or give any results from another laboratory, CLIA waived test or provider, nor can we provide you with any legal advice. We recommend you always use a reputable and accredited laboratory with licensed staff for both collection and analysis of any genetic or medical testing and consult your physician.
